浙江省水利水电勘测设计院创建于1956年，是一家集规划、勘测、设计、咨询、科研、招标代理、岩土工程施工、工程建设监理、工程总承包、大坝安全蓄水验收，施工图设计审查和投资等业务于一体的大型专业勘测设计单位。拥有甲级综合类工程勘察、工程设计、测绘、工程咨询、工程总承包、工程造价、工程招标代理、工程监理、水文水资源调查评价、水保方案编制、水资源认证资质及乙级建筑设计、环境影响评价等专项资质。多年来，其凭借雄厚的技术力量、配套齐全的专业设置，在确保完成国家重点工程项目的同时，积极参与市场竞争，努力拓展国内、国外市场，在激烈的市场竞争中一直保持着强劲的发展态势，取得了显著的社会效益和经济效益，为我省国民经济的可持续发展做出了巨大的贡献。
浙江省水利水电勘测设计院是一个高学历、高素质人才密集的科技型企业，技术力量雄厚，专业配套齐全。近五十年来，涌现了诸多的水利水电规划、勘测、设计方面的著名专家。现有在职职工450余人，专业技术人员占80%以上，博士、硕士50余人，教授级高工及高级工程师90余人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴15人。
建院近50年以来，先后完成了我省钱塘江、瓯江、甬江、飞云江、苕溪及杭嘉湖、宁绍、温黄平原等省内各大水系、各大平原的流域规划、水资源规划及重要城市的防洪规划；先后完成了100多个大中型水利工程和中型水力发电工程及众多城市防洪工程的勘测设计；完成了约1000万平方米的工业与民用建筑设计。从60年代起，设计院多次派出专家赴五大洲近20多个国家，承担并完成了流域规划、工程设计、技术合作、工程考察等任务。

Zhejiang Design Institute of
Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power (ZDWP), established
in 1956, is a large professional investigation and design
unit specified in planning, investigation, design, consultation,
scientific research, bidding agency, geo-technique,
construction supervision, turnkey contracting, dam safety
impounding check, design review for construction drawings
and investment，enjoying several qualifications such
as grade A Engineering Investigation, Engineering Design,
Survey, Engineering Consultation, Turnkey Contracting,
Engineering Cost Preparation, Bidding Agency, Construction
Supervision, Hydrology and Water Resources Investigation
Evaluation, Soil and Water Conservation Scheme Preparation,
Water Resources Certification, and Grade B Building
Design and Environmental Impact Evaluation.
For several decades, the institute, relying on her
strong technical advantages and complete setting of
professions, in addition to completion of key national
projects, takes active part in the market competition
and expansion of domestic and overseas fields. In
fierce market competition, the institute maintains
a powerful development trend, obtains obvious social
and economic benefits and has made great contributions
to sustainable development of national economy in
Zhejiang province.
Zhejiang Design Institute of Water Conservancy and
Hydroelectric Power is a densely talented scientific
and technical enterprise with well education and high
qualities. The institute is fitted with strong technical
force and complete profession. For nearly fifty years,
large numbers of famous experts are springing up in
planning, investigation and design of water conservancy
and hydropower. The institute has over 450 staffs,
in which, more than fifty for masters and doctors,
more than 90 for professors and senior engineers,
15 for enjoying government special allowance from
the State Council.
For nearly 50 years of establishment, the Institute
has completed successively catchment planning, water
resources planning for Qiantangjiang, Oujiang, Yongjiang,
Feiyunjiang, Tiaoxi, Hang-Jia-Hu, Ning-Shao and Wen-Huang
plain in the province and flood control planning for
key cities, completed investigation and design of
more than 100 large and medium scaled water conservancy
projects, medium scaled hydraulic power projects and
many urban flood control projects, industrial and
civil buildings design of about 10 million s.q. m,
being awarded over 170 scientific advancement, excellent
design and superior quality prizes in national, ministerial
and provincial levels. Since 1960s, the institute
has been sending experts several times to more than
50 countries in 5 continents for basin planning, engineering
design, technical cooperation and engineering investigation.
